About this website: On the 26th and 27th of November 2009, a group of people came together at the Crescent Theatre in Birmingham to begin to answer the question "How do we create a better future for theatre, here, in the West Midlands". This website holds the notes from the sessions held over those two days, and allows anyone (whether they were present at the event or not) to continue the conversations from the event. We shud feel we’re not treading water - we are making a difference aren’t we?

The session was introspective, naval gazing but to imagine a better future (as per the general question of the two days) need to feel empowered ourselves first and foremost – that there is an osmosis going on and an exchange that somehow edifies society beyond the theatre walls – something beyond outcomes and statistics telling us this,

we shud remind ourselves of the palpable sense of this

Agreed that we are!!

Not a strategical question, as such, but an artistic existential yearn.
